CFV: Link Joker is not OP?

Hey guys I`m back to talk about the new clan that was revealed for Cardfight Vanguard. The new clan is called Link Joker and at first glance it may seem OP (especially if the first glance was from the anime), but I can assure you that it is not as OP as it may seem.

The reason most people think this clan is OP is that it has a new skill called "Lock" which is an ability that is afflicted on one of the opponent's rear-guards and that unit cannot do ANYTHING and is removed at the end of your opponent's turn. This also means that unit cannot be retired or moved and takes up the one space on the field (at least that is what I know from my knowledge). Yes I know your shouting right know "HOW IS THIS NOT OP?", calm down lemme explain.

Currently, from the cards that have been revealed for Link Joker there are only a few ways for these cards to use "lock" and some are very rarely going to be used. First is though the starter vanguard for the deck Star-Vader, Dust Tail Unicorn which requires that at least one of your opponent's RG to be already locked and that the attack where it boosts, actually hits. The second way is through their G2 main vanguard Star-vader, Mobius Breath Dragon, which requires this card to be the vanguard and the attack to be successful, which is not going to happen often and when it does won't be very useful. Another way is through the G2 One Who Shoots Gravitational Singularities which requires for the opponent to have an already locked card and have the attack to hit, a bit more frequent and a bit more useful since it does not require it to be in the vanguard circle. Another way is through their G3 BR unit Star-vader, Infinite Zero Dragon, this is the one you have to worry about since it locks two units and gives +10000 power to vanguard. Though I don't know about you, but people don't regularly BR more than once every game, at least in my experience. 2 G3 have the same ability of CB2 lock one RG, which isn't very useful considering since there is a G3 which is much more useful. The final way is through Star-vader, Dark Band Dragon which is LB4 CB1, lock one back-row RG. Out of all these ways there is maybe only three really good ways of using the skill "Lock" and is going to be used few and far between. In order for this clan to be very effective it requires a good player that knows when to use the very limited ways of using "Lock" and requires a good understanding of the other person's deck to be used effectively.

TL;DR, don't worry I understand. Basically what I'm saying is that the skill "Lock" is not spammable and requires experience, knowledge, and skill to be properly used. Where definitely a very strong skill and clan, it needs a good player in order to be used to full effectiveness and knowledge in order to know when to know when to use lock.

Wondering how to play around "Lock". Well basically you need to be very patient since your card WILL come back once your turn is done and really has only 2 ways to get your cards locked when your field does not have any cards locked. Good decks to play against Link Joker are decks that need very few RG like SP (Shadow Paladin) or decks that have high defensive power like OTT (Oracle Think Tank).

Well that is all I have to say about this new clan.

Please leave a comment below and tell me how you feel about the new clan.

Anyway, I appreciate you reading this post and hope I see you here again at Madness.

Scrolls: Order.......Short explanation, Full one to come soon

Alright I wanted just write a brief post about Order from my experience playing it and fighting against it.

From what I have seen this is a very good deck that has very hard hitting and tanky creatures with spells that can buff them even more. When combined properly they can hit hard and take hits (seen in the ducal and royal abilities). The only downside currently is that they have probably the longest cool downs in the game currently having to wait 2 or 3 turns in order to attack, but of course they sorta have a way around that in the form of a spell that reduces cool downs. This really all I can say about this deck right now I still need more experience with them to talk about them further.

Please leave a comment below if you want to talk about this deck a little bit, maybe you can give me some tips about playing as them or playing against them.

As always thanks for reading and I hope to see you here again at Madness.

Scrolls: Growth

I just wanted to talk a little about the new game from Mojang called scrolls. More specifically the decks involved in the the game. Today I want to talk about the deck Growth. This deck is a very fast, but squishy deck.

(The Growth player is on the right)

You can get out a couple of cards really quickly and would not need much resources to get a good field. One strength I found when playing this deck is the fact that the wolf cards and brother wolf can synchronize very well. Being able to get a creature out that can bring out more wolves to power up the wolf that has relentless (ability in the game to attack through all enemies in the same line, similar to the trample ability in Magic the Gathering). Then when combined with the wolf that can lower cool downs can really start to hit hard and very fast since the cool downs on the wolf creatures are only at 2.

(Not a good example of the wolf tactic, but the only thing I can find of a good growth field.)

All in all it is a very fast hitting deck that can hit hard given the right circumstances. Though very squishy can be buffed with some of the spells in the deck and healed by some of the structures with high health in this deck. Currently this is really the only deck I know and soon as I can understand the other decks I will try and explain them and even try to post deck lists.

Anyway that is all for now I hope you enjoyed reading, if you liked this post a comment below and if you have any opinions on this deck please let your opinion known in the comments below.

New Card Game From Mojang: Scrolls

From the creators of  minecraft we have a brand new game called Scrolls.

First I like to say Bethseda actually sued Notch about the name of the game and we almost never got it. Thankfully it as settled and we got our game, and I for am really grateful for it.

This game is amazing fun combining the elements of a CCG and a hexagon based strategy game. Basically the card game element of this game is the sacrifing of cards in your hand in order to get resources or more cards, also called scrolls (oh what a surprise), in oredr to summon creatures and cast spells to attack enemy monsters or buff your own creatures. Here is where the strategy game comes in once you bring out your creatures you have to goal to destroy three of the 5 enemies totems.

From my experience with the game so far it has been a great experience for me and reasonably cheap (about $21 US) and you get a free structure deck to start out from.

Though the store can be seen as buying power since you can pay real money for cards.........but its VERY CHEAP to buy and less expensive than most other TCG and CCG on the market that cost hundreds in order to build.

Currently there are only 3 types of decks in the game Growth, Order, and Energy, each with their own unique traits with more to come soon. Growth being a fast but weak, Order being slow but powerful, and Energy being a very long range class.

This game has been a very fun experience for me and I hope you will buy it to.

Here is the link to where you can buy it:
